The Lounge

Another soldier a bit further off risked a small laugh. She had always found humor in other's pain.

I got up, exhausted. "Ill be in my quarters if pandemonium breaks out."

"Other than you making out with a fugitive?" she turned on her bar stool and asked. She was a grey wolf. She would usually be a loner herself if it wasnt for one of her arch rivals was on a the cat side.

Gears got angry. "I should slap you!"

"Woah! Slow down Mech!" She made nicknames up forf almost everyone, whethere they liked it or not. "Jeese no one can take a joke these days" She muttered while grabbing her drink and stalking off towards her own bedroom.

Gears didn't drink, but that made him angry all the same. "Whatever!" He went back down to the pool table, which double as a poker table.

A small canine party was getting into swing, but no beer because of the party the night before. Dogs started to dance, a bit nervously at first, but mroe and more slowly joined.

I got to the party and sat down. Lightining and dancing mixed incredibly, so he went on the dance floor immediatley. I looked around, and an air hockey game was going on. Gears had more than countable poker chips, so apparently the cards had been in his favor. The bar was understandably having low buisness tonight. I relaxed and flipped through the channels on the TV, until I found baseball. That was one of the few things I liked about humans: their games. I was a fan of human sports, such as baseball, football and the like. My favorite human team, the New York Yankees, were beating one of my least favorite teams, the Atlanta Braves(lol I have no idea how I get away with not liking them when I live in georgia) and the score was 8-4. I watched baseball a lot, and I knew the entire Yankees lineup, pitchers, records, world series wins, manager, coaches, stats, everything. I randomly had a Yankees hat lying around in the black hole that is my closet.

Luna was there, she was playing the air hockey game.

Spir waas a corner, reading a book. A giant book.

Friction, the grey wolf that made Gears angry older, was beating everyone at pool.

A grey coyote whispered to another "Hey, hey, dude, guess what? I heard that the felines were.. like.. going to attack. But I don't believe it. They're too wimpy. I get they can't even construct a little house without their abilities.. hehe.." The other snickered and pawed at the first. They laughed.

Friction had caught wind of the gossip to. But she wouldnt doubt it. The felines were powerful to.

I sighed. If the felines were to attack, I needed to build this mystery light sword now, for my own safety. I thought about what was to come next.

There came a solid yap of cheers as Luna finally won. The game was tied at 9 for who knows how long.

"Sir.. sir! We found these gemstones by the border. they.. uh.. jsut appeared from nowhere.. We checked with Gears and he said they were of importance.." A young canine brouch a small bag of stones, the same ones Sparky had found. He spilled them out about the table, making sure none fell.

I looked at the crystals. They were of fitting to the description Lightining gave, some red, most blue, some green, and one or two purple. Upon counting, there were 8 crystals. One purple, two green, two red, three blue. "Get two of the best dark and six of the best light users. These are of importance."

"I have those, too." He stated, with a group of canines just coming in. They filed behind the slightly nervous canine, all standing to attention.

"Planning ahead." I looked in the sack he brought, and found a very peculiar crystal. It was dark purple, keeping it light like the purple one, yet firey, like a red one. I put it in my pocket and called Gears in. He said, "These crystals our friend found can perfectly channel your core element, light or dark. The dark users I reccommed having red crystals."The two dark users, teenage boys, laughed at each other and high fived eack other. "The others select from green, blue, and purple. No fighting, these crystals contain a life, metaphorically. Meaning they 'bond' with their users. Consider them a friend, like an extension of you."

The other light users bowed, the two dark ones, twins, jeered at their crystaless dark using friends. One of them asked Blaze, "So, uh, what about your sword, sir? I heard that thing needed parts, right?"

Gears interuppted. "While all of you have crystals, you mist locate your own parts to make the sword. As I said, it 'bonds' with you, and should be a primary weapon, so you collect your own parts to get it to be the most comfortable for you." I showed the canine the crystal o found.

The twins shrugged, the other smiled and saluted. They still held their crystals in their hand, almsot as if they were those "temper balls". The one twin that asked the question thoguht to himself, 'Blaze's new sword would obviously have to be powered by something.. but what?'

"Ahem!" Gears said like he was giving a lecture. "The power source is going to be your raw power, be it light or darkness. Turn it on by feeding energy into it, which is done simply by holding it and trasporting light or dark energy to it."

The light ones saulted again, grumbling a bit. The two dark users didn't ignore him, but still sighed as they turned around.

Music got louder, and more partiers came in, ignoring the small crowd with their leader in it.
